Each week I visit my father in the nursing home, and each week he reminds me of how proud he is to call me his daughter. My father always taught me to believe in the power of local government representation and understands the road that has been paved to allow for his daughter to seek public office.

As a proud alumnus of AVOW, it makes me incredibly happy to see fellow women working hard to represent the community we all love. This Journal Gazette article on the women running in this election captures the momentum that has been building for generations.
Representation is important. I want my daughter and your daughters to see what can happen when leaders represent the entirety of this community. A sincere congratulations to all of my fellow candidates this election cycle, we have a lot of work to do.
