Putting My Experience
I'm lucky to have an education and I never take it for granted. It's opened and closed many doors for me over the years. Even with an education, it's not guaranteed freedom from hardship. I know what's it like to live and work on the economic margins and feel ignored. It feels awful. And, I've worked with many marginalized communities around the country who've felt the same.
I've always felt connected with those who struggle and that's why I'm committed to serving people where they're at. We all have gifts and the onus is on us to share those gifts with others.
I'm committed to using my time, talent, and treasure for others. Whether it's in the workplace, with my neighbor or when I volunteer. If I can support and empower others, I will do it.
I engage relationally, lead with integrity and accountability. We can all be social influencers in our own right. Change agents are necessary for a community to thrive especially through civic engagement. To expect more, we need to do more.
